‘Just wanted to let you know that my kitchen vent quit working. I took my microwave off the wall to determine if that was the problem (it wasn't). Then I thought I might have a problem with the duct going outside being blocked. I thought maybe with the pounding on the roof something had caused a blockage. I contacted Taylor and he took all of 5 minutes to get here. He went into the attic to determine which vent cover on the roof was the correct one. He then went up on the roof and located the problem, the outside vent flapper was frozen shut. He broke the ice to make the flapper work and solved the problem. ‘Every year I tally up the heating costs from the June billing to the following May's billing. We wondered if there would be a notable change due to the insulated siding and Parsons said not to expect much. Of the last 6 years (since I installed a more efficient furnace) 3 winters had a lower total heating cost and 3 were higher. Compared with the very cold winters this winters cost was down 17%. We need to consider that there probably was several cost increases in gas pricing so guessing its 10% higher now than 6 years ago, then only one of the previous 6 winters cost less than last years heating cost. My unit felt more comfortable last winter and during the coldest days I kept it a degree warmer that I have in the past which leads me to believe there was a noticeable improvement in insulation resulting in lower heating costs.’ – HOA Board Member, Mendota Heights.
